What is ARCS?

ARCS is the Adastral Recreational Cricket Society.

Where is it?

ARCS is centred on Adastral Park, just outside Ipswich, and aims to provide cricket, primarily of a fun kind, for those based at the Park (and also various BT sites in the area) who do not play regularly.

Who can play?

This web site

This web site is still a work in progress so do not be surprised if something doesn't behave quite as you would expect. If you spot any bugs or inaccuracies, or can think of any essential improvements let me know.

AGM & Presentation Evening

A reminder that the AGM & Presentation Evening will take place on Monday 23rd Nov in the back room at The Dove, Ipswich with a 7:30 start. All ARCS players are welcome, & as usual a meal & drink will be provided to those ARCS players who attend.

If anyone wishes to bring anything to the attention of the AGM, but is unable to attend in person, could they please let one of the the committee know in writing by c-o-p Friday 20th Nov.

AGM & Presentation Evening

Congrats to the Runouts UnLtd, ARCS 2009 Champions, and now holders of both Cup & League.

Details on the AGM & Presentation Evening to follow, but likely to be in Oct and along simliar lines to previous years.

Congrats to the Runouts UnLtd and Bouncers & Googlies, winners of the 2009 Cup & Plate respectively.Piccies from both finals will soon be available under the Gallery tab above.

And thanks also to Keith Fisher, Paul Cooke, Aditya Bajaj, Dave Maynard, Richard Avis & Chris Roberts for officiating at the finals.

Cup & Plate Finals
The Cup & Plate Finals are now confirmed as follows; further details will be distributed to captains in advance of the matches.

Cup Final
Tues 7th July: Runouts vs Empty Raincoats

Plate Final
Weds 8th July: Caught Jesters vs Bouncers & Googlies

The reserve day for both finals in Thursday 9th July.

Both finals are at the "usual" Notcutts Ground (as the Ivry St pitch is not available for the finals this year), and the result is purely on runs scored (NOT points).

Having independent officials at the finals is a long standing ARCS tradition, is something that helps differentiate the finals from other games we play during the season - if you are able & willing to officiate at either final (and earn a FREE pint and meal afterwards), please contact Chris (chris.b.roberts@bt.com).

The Cup & Plate semi-final pairings confirmed as follows:

Cup Semis
Mon 22nd June: Runouts vs Fraud Squad
Weds 24th June: Empty Raincoats vs R17

Plate Semi
Tues 23rd June: Jesters vs Reapers
B&G get the coveted bye to the Plate Final


All semi-final matches are at the "usual" Notcutts Ground (NOT the Ivry St pitch), and the result is purely on runs scored (NOT points).

The Cup & Plate semi-final pairings will be based upon the league table after the match between Reapers & Caught Jesters on 17th June. The fixtures will be:

Cup Semis
Mon 22nd June: 1st vs 4th
Weds 24th June: 2nd vs 3rd

Plate Semi
Tues 23rd June: 6th vs 7th
5th place gets a bye to the Plate Final

2009 Season Commences 5th May

The 2009 fixtures have been released (they can be viewed under the "Fixtures" tab above), kicking off with R17 facing Caught Jesters on 5th May.

The 2009 season starts in early May, if you wish to join an existing team, or to enter a new team with friends & colleagues, please contact any of the committee, who will be pleased to help.

New Rule

Following discussion at the AGM and subsequently in committee a new rule concerning the start of matches has been added to our list of rules.
