What is ARCS?

ARCS is the Adastral Recreational Cricket Society.

Where is it?

ARCS is centred on Adastral Park, just outside Ipswich, and aims to provide cricket, primarily of a fun kind, for those based at the Park (and also various BT sites in the area) who do not play regularly.

Who can play?

For guidance on who can play please see the eligibility rule.

This web site

This web site is still a work in progress so do not be surprised if something doesn't behave quite as you would expect. If you spot any bugs or inaccuracies, or can think of any essential improvements let me know.

Season Extended to 30th Aug

The season has been extended by 2 weeks to Thurs 30th Aug so that we can reschedule some of the matches lost to poor weather earlier in the season. See Fixtures tab for details.

Congrats to Fraud Squad, 2012 Plate Winners following a victory over Bouncers & Googlies in the Suffolk sunshine.

2012 Cup Winners - R17

Congrats to R17, 2012 Cup Winners, who beat Smiling Crocs through ARCS version of Duckworth-Lewis in a rain-shortened match yesterday.

Adastral Nets

Following a number of years of deterioration, the cricket nets at Adastral Park have been taken down, hence are no longer available for use by ARCS members.

2012 Season starts 30th April

The 2012 season starts on Monday 30th April, when R17 take on the Caught Jesters. The full fixture list is now available on the "Fixtures" tab above.

The New Season Approaches - new Players & Teams Welcome

The clocks have changed & the sun is out, so must be time to start thinking about the new ARCS cricket season. We hope to welcome back all 8 teams from last year, and as always will be happy to see new players and/or teams. If you would like to join (either joining an existing team, or forming a new team with freinds & colleagues) then please contact one of the Committee who will be happy to help.

New players welcome at any time, new teams for the 2012 season by 5th April please (to allow us time to get the domectics sorted for an early May start).

There are rule changes this year, as proposed at the AGM, details to follow with the pre-season briefing to all teams.

2011 AGM & Presentation Evening

The ARCS AGM & Presentation Evening will be the evening of Mon 31st Oct at the The Dove, agenda to follow but likely to be a 7:30 start.

As usual, all ARCS captains & players are welcome, & a meal & ale will be provided for all those that do attend.

Empty Raincoats are ARCS Premier League Champions!!

Congratulations to Yasin & team, who have retained the ARCS Premier Lague trophy following victory in a "winner takes all" match against the Smiling Crocs.

ARCS: Plate Final Result - Research (R17) Win!

Well done to R17 for a deserved win in the Plate Final. Consistent batting through the team allowed them to post a good total of 144. Good bowling and fielding (resulting in several runouts) then restricted Bouncers & Googlies to 93. Congratulations to Dave Wisely and his team.

ARCS: Cup Final Result - Crocs Win!

A deserved win for the Smiling Crocs in the Cup Final and we get a new name to engrave on the trophy. The Empty Raincoats played hard and fair but were not helped by three shocking run-outs and a big over close to the end of the Crocs innings which turned the match.
