Additional Guidelines for Scorers

Please make use of the scoring guide when marking the scoresheet. This helps the resolution of any disputes after the match.

Wide Ball

A wide ball shall be scored as 1 (one) extra. Any additional runs that the batsmen make shall be scored as additional wides, unless the ball crosses the boundary, in which case 4 (or exceptionally 6!) wides shall be scored.

Any wides scored shall count against the bowler.

A wide ball shall NOT count as part of the over (i.e. the bowler shall be required to deliver a further ball).

No Ball

A no ball shall be scored as ONE extra run (as per regular cricket rules). This rule was amended in the 2015 AGM. Any runs scored 'off the bat' shall be counted in addition to the one run penalty and shall be credited to the striker.

The batsmen shall NOT be permitted to score 'byes' off a no ball delivery. However, should the ball cross the boundary, 4 (or exceptionally 6!) no balls shall be scored.

Any no balls scored shall count against the bowler.

A no ball shall NOT count as part of the over (i.e. the bowler shall be required to deliver a further ball).

Run Out

When a player is out 'Run Out', any runs completed prior to the run out shall be credited to the batsman.

Caught Out

When a player is out 'Caught Out', no runs shall be credited to the striker, regardless of how many runs are completed before the catch.
