What is ARCS?

ARCS is the Adastral Recreational Cricket Society.

Where is it?

ARCS is centred on Adastral Park, just outside Ipswich, and aims to provide cricket, primarily of a fun kind, for those based at the Park (and also various BT sites in the area) who do not play regularly.

Who can play?

This web site is still a work in progress so do not be surprised if something doesn't behave quite as you would expect. If you spot any bugs or inaccuracies, or can think of any essential improvements let me know.

29th August 2016

Adjudication Update and League Result

No representations have been received from B&G Unlimited or Fraud Squad regarding the outcome of the adjudication of the match held July 19th 2016. The full adjudication will be published shortly on the downloads page. This confirms R17 as the 2016 League Winners.

23rd August 2016

The Adjudication of the Match between B&G Unlimited and Fraud Squad has been completed and is now being shared with the captains concerned. Pending any response the result will be published after Tuesday 30th August 2016.

2015 ARCS AGM

The AGM was held last night, with the League trophy presented to Jegadis and the Fraud Squad team, followed by a good, interactive AGM where a number of topics were covered. Thanks to all that attended - a record 29 people!! Photos and the minutes will be available on this website soon.

Thanks for your support and enthusiasm this year, and we look forward to seeing you all for the 2016 season.

Congrats to Fraud Squad, 2015 ARCS League Champions

Congratulations to Jegadis & team, ARCS League Champions for 2015.

The Fraud Squad will be presented with their League trophies at the AGM on Monday 21st Sept.

2015 AGM & Presentation Evening

One for the diary the 2015 AGM and Presentation Evening will be held at the The Dove on the evening of Mon 21st Sept. As usual, all ARCS players are welcome to join us to see the trophies presented to the league champions, review the 2015 season and agree any changes to the format / rules for 2016.

Timings and agenda to be confirmed nearer the time.

Note that the New August Rule kicks in on Mon 3rd Aug 2015, with all 2015 matches from that date being 12 (TWELVE) x 8 ball overs

THE AUGUST RULE: This rule was determined by the 2014 season AGM and is in addition to the START OF THE MATCH rule.

Any league match played from the first Monday in August (August 3rd in 2015) will be reduced to 12 8-ball overs per side.

Each bowler can bowl no more than two overs in the first ten overs of the innings. Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 3 overs in the innings.

Point calculations are the same as for any 15-over format match.

Congrats to the Fraud Squad, 2015 ARCS Cup Winners

Fraud Squad beat R17 at Ipswich School's Ivry Street ground to secure their 1st ARCS Cup win. Congrats to Jegadis & team.

ARCS 2014 AGM & Presentation Evening

We will be holding the 2014 ARCS AGM & Presentation Evening on the evening of Tues 25th Nov in the back room of the The Dove, Ipswich, with a 7:30 start, and as usual all ARCS players are welcome to attend to see Fraud Squad collect their 2014 league trophies, provide feedback on the 2014 season & help influence rules, competition structure, etc for ARCS in 2015; a drink plus a chilli or curry with 1 meat & 1 veggie option will be provided for all attendees.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to raise any points or questions in the AGM, please put them in writing to any of the ARCS Committee, by c-o-p Fri 21st Nov, and we will raise them on your behalf.

Cup Fixtures

We have now completed the Qualifying games for the Cup matches, so I am able to determine Quarter-Final and Semi-Final placings (despite the challenges of the early season weather!). The fixtures will be as follows:

Wednesday 2nd July: Cup Quarter-Final: Reapers v B&G Unlimited

Tuesday 8th July: Cup Semi-final 1: Fraud Squad v QF Winner
Wednesday 9th July: Cup Semi-final 2: Research (R17) v Caught Jesters

All games to be played at the usual Notcutts ground under Cup Rules (win/lose without bonus points) and match fees as normal.

Umpires to be provided by teams as per normal League games.

Please note that the Final will be on Tuesday 22nd July (Reserve day Thursday 24th July).
